RENZO TRENTIN

Venetian, born in 1946, he became a Pro at the age of 16 and during the years has heaped up professional assignments at high level as Federal Coach, Technical Director of the Male National Teams, Responsible for Professional Staff for National Youth Activity, Member of the Examination Commission of the Professional National School. For the past 12 years he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Italian PGA and has received 3 ‘Seminatore d’Oro’ awards (1986-1989-1990).

With his students, Renzo Trentin gained 9 International and 65 National titles. He cultivated high level professionals such as Massimo Scarpa, winner of the Absolute European Championship and European Juniors Team Championship, Stefania Scarpa, who came second at the Junior Orange Bowl and finalist at the International Championship of Italy, Anna Rossi, winner of the England International Ladies Championship and Ladies European Championship, Mariapaola Casati, International Champion of Italy, Caterina Quintarelli, winner of the France and Spain Juniors Championships and Absolute Africa Championship, Antonio Lionello, International Italian Champion, Enrico Trentin, winner of the World Army Team Championship and third in the World Army Individual Championship, Matteo Zaretti, winner of the Doug Sanders European Championship and third at the USA Doug Sanders.

Golf is life for Renzo Trentin. With an infallible eye, he guesses the potentials of a player since their first moves in the driving range, he detects shortcomings at first glance and succeeds in correcting them with dogged determination. Prone to observe the new generations, he monitors each one’s progress and is always vigilant on every one’s results and successes in every competition.

His commitment also applies to the planning of charitable golf events for ‘La città della Speranza’, for ‘AREP Treviso’ and for ‘Ragazzi del Kenya di Padre Angelo’.

Renzo Trentin, a Venetian in the Hall of Fame, the ‘gotha’ of sport professionalism. Very few personalities have been bestowed this prestigious title and share their commitment to golf as players, events planners and sowers at very high level. ‘Hall of Fame’ or ‘Ark of Glory’, according to a more evocative image, the purpose of the ‘Hall of Fame’ established by the Italian PGA is that of giving the deserved recognition to those who have contributed to boast and spread this game in the world.
